What We Inspect?

Beyer:Buyer Home Inspection conducts an inspection of a residential building as per the requirements of the NY Home Inspection Licensing.

The home inspection shall include the following systems and components: Structural Components: Foundations, floors, walls, ceilings and roof. Exterior Components: Exterior surfaces, Entry doors, windows, decks, porches, walkways, patios, garage. Roofing System Components: Roofing surface, roof drainage system, flashings, skylights, exterior of chimney. Plumbing System Components: Water supply piping and distribution systems including functional flow and functional drainage, all interior fixtures and faucets, drain, waste and vent systems, domestic water heating systems, combustion vent systems, fuel distribution systems, drainage sumps and pumps and related piping. Electrical System Components: Service entrance system, main service disconnects, main panel, sub panels, service grounding, wiring, over current protection, switches, outlets, lighting, and ground fault circuit interrupters. Heating System Components: Installed heating equipment, energy sources, combustion vent systems, above ground fuel storage tanks, visible and accessible portions of the heat exchanger. Cooling System Components: Central cooling systems, permanently installed through-wall cooling systems, energy sources. InteriorComponents: Walls, ceilings, floors, steps, stairways, railings, installed kitchen wall cabinets, interior doors, windows, kitchen range and oven, dishwasher to determine water supply and drainage, garbage disposer. Insulation Components and Ventilation System: Insulation in unfinished spaces, ventilation of attics and crawlspaces, mechanical ventilation systems. Fireplaces and Solid Fuel Burning Appliances: Fireplaces and Solid Fuel Burning Appliances, chimneys and combustion vents.

Home Inspectors should present the customer with a clearly written, typed or printed home inspection report, which must conform to the accepted standards of practice for the state the inspection is performed in or the standards of practice of the association that the home inspector belongs to.
